Pool Side Drinks For This Summer!

Now I don't advocate drinking, in fact, I'm not a drinker at all. Occasionally, at social functions or casually at home maybe but it's rare. Not to be the party pooper in the group but it's just never really been my thing. Nevertheless, I can still get down and make a mean drink. Every good party hostess show have such skills!

So I have put together a pretty good list of the Top 18 drinks I here ordered, either at home when I'm having a party or out with friends. I'm sure I left someone out and for that I will just apologize now and you can beat me later!! :)

One last thing before I divulge my all time cocktail, mixed drink list and that is, to be safe! Don't drink and drive. Always have a designated driver or call a cab. Your life and others lives are very special. Okay, done being a Mom. Let's get down to business!!

First up on the list is this Yummy Mama:

1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of peppers
1 stalk of celery

Add Smirnoff No.21 Vodka, tomato juice, red hot sauce, green hot sauce, Worchester sauce, lemon juice, a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper. Pour back and forth between two mixing glasses. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Garnish with a celery stalk.

Number Three:

Blue Hawaii Recipe:
1 oz DeKuyper® Blue Curacao liqueur
1 oz Smirnoff® vodka

juice of 1/2 limes
Coca-Cola®

Pour lime juice into a highball glass over ice cubes. Add rum, fill with cola, stir, and serve.

How am I doing so far? Seeing anything new you haven't tried?

Six:

Dirty Martini Recipe:
2 oz gin
1 tbsp dry vermouth
2 tbsp olive juice
olives

1. Place an ice cube and a small amount of water in a cocktail glass. Place in freezer for 2 - 3 minutes.

2. Fill a mixer with all ingredients including garnish. Cover and shake hard 3 - 4 times.

3. Remove cocktail glass from freezer, and empty. Strain contents of the mixer into the cocktail glass, include one of the olives and serve with a mysterious smile.

Seven:

Hiroshima Bomber Recipe:
3/4 oz triple sec
1/4 oz Bailey's® Irish cream
2 - 3 drops grenadine syrup

Fill your shot glass 3/4 way full with triple sec. Carefully layer the bailey's on top of the triple sec, and add some drops of grenadine into the center. If done correctly, it will look like an atomic mushroom cloud when the drop hits the bottom of the shot glass.

Eight:

Kamikaze Recipe:
1.25 oz Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
0.25 oz triple sec
0.25 oz lime juice

Add lime juice, triple sec and Smirnoff No.21 Vodka.
Shake and strain into a shot glass.

Nine:

Long Island Iced Tea Recipe:
1 part vodka
1 part tequila
1 part rum
1 part gin
1 part triple sec
1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix
1 splash Coca-Cola®

Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Pour into a shaker and give one brisk shake. Pour back into the glass and make sure there is a touch of fizz at the top. Garnish with lemon.

Hang in there, almost done!! :)

Ten:

Mojito Recipe:
1.25 oz Captain Morgan® Original spiced rum
12 mint leaves
1 tbsp sugar
0.5 oz lime juice
2 oz soda

Place mint leaves in the bottom of glass. Add crushed ice, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, sugar, and lime juice, and muddle. Add soda water and garnish with mint leaves.

Eleven:

Pina Colada Recipe:
3 oz light rum
3 tbsp coconut cream
3 tbsp crushed pineapples

Put all ingredients into an electric blender with 2 cups of crushed ice. Blend at a high speed for a short length of time. Strain into a collins glass and serve with a straw.

This one is my favorite by far. It's the only one I order normally when I go out or make when at home. My favorite part is if you add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, some whip cream, and a cherry! Oh! MY!!

Twelve:

Pisco Sour Recipe:
3 parts pisco brandy
1 1/2 parts lemon juice
1 - 2 tbsp sugar

Add all ingredients to a mixer with ice. Shake well (until ice is melted), and serve in a cocktail glass.

Thirteen:

Salty Dog Recipe:
5 oz grapefruit juice
1 1/2 oz gin
1/4 tsp salt

Pour all ingredients over ice cubes in a highball glass. Stir well and serve. (Vodka may be substituted for gin, if preferred.

Fourteen:

Strawberry Daiquiri Recipes:
1/2 oz strawberry schnapps
1 oz light rum
1 oz lime juice
1 tsp powdered sugar
1 oz strawberries

Add ingredients with a bit of ice in a blender. Blend and then strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish w/ strawberry.

Fifteen:

Strawberry Mojito Recipe:
3 to 4 strawberries, de-stemmed and cut into pieces
1 lime, quartered
3 sprigs of mint
1 Tbsp sugar
Splash of club soda
Ice

Fill the cocktail shaker with strawberries, add the lime, add the mint (only the leaves),
add the sugar. Use a muddler or a blunt kitchen utensil (like the handle-end of a spoon) to mash the ingredients together until they mix into a mash. Fill the shaker with crushed ice, directly on top of the fruit and mint pieces. Add the rum. You should see the liquid rise almost to the surface of the ice. Cover and shake. Pour into tall glass. Top off with club soda. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and mint leaves.

Sixteen:

Blue Tahoe Recipe:
1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
4 - 5 ice cubes
1 oz tequila
cherry
1 oz lime juice
mint leaves
1 slice lemon
fill with Champagne
1 slice orange

Put all ingredients in together followed by the champagne last.

Seventeen:

Tequila Sunrise Recipe:
2 MSR tequila
orange juice
2 dashes grenadine syrup

Pour tequila into a highball glass with ice, and top with orange juice. Stir. Add grenadine by tilting the glass and pouring grenadine down side by flipping the bottle vertically very quickly. The grenadine should go straight to the bottom and then rise up slowly through the drink. Garnish stirrer, straw, and cherry-orange.

Eighteen:

Whiskey Sour Recipe:
2 oz blended whiskey
juice of 1/2 lemons
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
cherry
1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
